The ECARO‑25 System is a clean agent fire suppression solution specifically designed to protect spaces where the use of water or foam is not feasible, such as data centers, laboratories, electrical rooms, and telecommunications facilities. It uses HFC‑125 (also known as FE‑25) as the extinguishing agent, a chemical compound that acts quickly by absorbing heat at the molecular level and interfering with the combustion chain reaction. This allows the fire to be extinguished without displacing oxygen, making it safe even in occupied areas.
Among its main advantages are that it is non-conductive, leaves no residue after discharge, and causes no damage to sensitive equipment. Additionally, ECARO‑25 requires up to 20tanto por ciento less agent than other systems such as FM‑200 (HFC‑227ea) and up to 38tanto por ciento less than the FK‑5‑1‑12 agent, resulting in lower installation and gas storage costs. Another important advantage is its reduced environmental impact: it has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of zero, although its global warming potential (GWP) must still be considered in accordance with local and international regulations.
This system requires enclosures to be properly sealed in order to maintain agent concentration for at least five minutes, which is essential to ensure effective fire extinguishment and to prevent potential re-ignition.
